Today my baby turned one. It is such a strange feeling when you stop to think that just one year ago Vivian was a tiny little baby and now she has grown into a little girl full of personality. I am completely in love with her.
On Sunday afternoon, we had a party for her over at the church (our house would not have been big enough). It was a beautiful day to turn one. We went to church that morning and then had to hustle to get the downstairs decorated in time. The party had a Pooh theme/1st Birthday theme and I think it turned out good. The night before the party, I sat down with my pictures from the last year and made a movie about Vivian to show during the party. For those of you who missed it - here it is: http://www.mydeo.com/videorequest.asp?XID=7358&CID=225661
Here is the scene at the party (Katie was very right - 1st birthday parties are hectic so I did not get the opportunity to use my camera much).
We used the Scene Setter Add Ons by themselves on the walls - it worked out okay and Vivian really liked them. She had her own little cake and then the big cake was Pooh holding a honey pot.
Vivian did not get too messy in her cake. She scooped off some icing and ate it and then put her sippy cup in the cake icing too. She poked a finger into the cake and tasted it but that was about it.
After the party she was showing us how old she is (okay not really, she is just pointing).
Needless to say, after the party we were totally worn out. Vivian started playing with her presents when we got home and then we got the rest of them out for her today. It was a good way to start her birthday by playing with all her new toys this morning.
We also took her out to breakfast at the Korner Shop where she had some eggs and biscuits and gravy. After that we came home and watched a movie and then headed outdoors. We went up on Goshen to take in the fall scenery and take some pictures.
This is the view from the top. The far mountains you see are the Virginia/West Virginia line.
Then there were Grandma & Pop's cows - this is the summer pasture for them and I have to say this is a great place to hang out. Rick grabbed some corn ears to take along and feed them (Pop has spoiled them already and when you come to the mountain - you must bring corn now).
Vivian liked checking out the cows. With the corn in her hands - she was quite popular.
She was not about to let go of the corn until she decided whether she liked it or not, so after she chewed it a bit....
She had them eating out of her hands.
Happy Birthday Vivian!!! We hope you had fun. Love Always. Mommy and Daddy.

Happy Birthday you big beautiful girl!! Sounds like you had a fun day. Love
The slide show is super- especially for those of us who live miles away. I really enjoyed Ricky's graduation-the best part was getting to hang out with Vivian-sorry Ricky she just steals the show. Time sure flies fast and babies sure grow fast.
Love you guys-give the girl a hug and kiss from me.
I love you first picture...beautiful.
